Ive just been duck hunting for 2 years. This year i went on my own a couple of times.I killed some ducks but not as many as i would have like to.I got bit by the bug bad :salude:.I have the honor of travling 2 hours to work and 2 hours back home.so i have plenty of time to practice. Its nice if dont have another guy riding with me.I can really crank on it and practice routines(just for duck calling, know nothing about competions). If it sounds good let me know.(like echos,or bad recording)I recorded it on my mp3 player.it has a little mic on the side.I recorded it out side. Please give me some feed back. :salude:

First time poster, long time reader and guest. Love the website!!!

Ok fellas, here are some audio files of my calling. Please be gentle, I have only been duck hunting for a year and this is only 7-8 months of practicing, so I am still learning.

Not too shabby, Buckeye. Quacks are good. Feeder good. May just try cutting your notes off just a little sharper at the end of each quack in your comeback/greetings. Very nice calling for less than a year into it.

Thanks for the tips. I can definitely use all the help I can get. My wife is ready to throw my calls away. I even have my 2 year old son blowing duck calls, so she is in a no win situation.

Here's a sound clip of me with an RNT short barrel acrylic. Been calling for 2 seasons, learning from my ol' man. not the best....just good ol' meat calling.

In my opinion your old man has taught you well. Feeder sounded good, as well as the greetings and comebacks. I am not really experienced enough to give any tips, I am still trying to learn myself. But from what I can tell, you could kill a lot of ducks with calling like that.

The more I hear that RNT ShortBarrel, the more I like it.

My dad, uncle and brother will put me down a lot.....tell me where I need to improve on and make me listen to thier calling....I'm nothing compared to them, but I still can call ducks in too. They do most of the calling, i do most of the shooting.

BD- Your Quacks are great! what im hearing is a lack of crispness like okiequacker said. I feel like your notes are running into each other. Try and make each note in the series distinct. Pay attention to making hard consonant sounds at the begining and end of each note. Make sure you end each note before you proceed to the next note in the series. The same applies for your feed call. I dont know eactly which words you are using to make your feed call but put more stress on the consonants. its Du-Ga Du-Ga or Ti-Ka Ti-Ka
Think, Duck
Dream, Duck
Kill, Duck

It's an Obsession

Thanks for the tips guys. I really appreciate the help that I get from you guys on the site. I have to say that most of the calling tips and different hunting tips I get and give to others come from this site.

All the tips and tricks that I have gotten from DHC has helped me out tremendously. I have been practicing cutting my notes off sharper and more crisper. I recorded my calling and played it back and now that you mention it, I can hear my notes running together. I also started the feeder with tika-tika and controlling the pace of the tika-ticka's, fast, slow and in between and they do sound a lot better.

Again thanks for the help. I will post some updated files of my calling once I have had a chance to perfect it a little more.
