Mondo Vs NBG, Which do you prefer?

Postby Honk-n-quack » Tue Jun 10, 2014 8:21 pm

Hi all, I plan on switching to a single reed this next season, and I was wondering which you guys would pick out of the 2. This would be my go-to call

2 very different calls there. The Mondo, cut-down like in terms of sound and running characteristics is going to be much more difficult to pick up and run well . The NBG handles much more like a traditional J-frame and IMO would be a much more user friendly transition call. Your best bet would be to go to a store and even better, one of the shows/waterfowl weekends at a retailer and experimenting with those 2 and having someone on hand (prostaffers for each company) that could set the call up for you. It is entirely possible you may find something completely different that you hadn't even given notion to.

I blow a NBG and have had no issues with it. Love it. I would suggest a RNT Original or Daisy Cutter offer the Mondo. I also have used both the Original and DC with no issues as well. JMO

If it's loud you want I would recommend a main street comp call like the RNT MVP or an Echo Boss. Two calls that are very useful in the field.
