Wingert style whistle

Postby KyMike » Sun Jun 22, 2014 11:51 am

What are some other call makers that make a whistle similar to the Wingerts? I'm on his list but it will be after next season before I get mine.

I checked them out. They look pretty good. Couple questions to those that have these style calls.

1. Are they like echo stuffer calls. Same inserts just different barrels?

2. I have a Zink high roller and generic megaphone style. What's the advantage of these calls? Style, sound quality, volume?

Aaron has stock whistles that are CNC'D now, my gf just got me one for a birthday gift, and he shipped it out the next day.

All I know is this... Wingert makes one bad ass whistle. I was blown away by how real this whistle sounds and how flippin' sweet it looks. By far my most cherished call on the lanyard. Oh and his customer service is bar none the best I have experienced for any purchase.

Yeah he seems like a good guy. Are the cnc calls all acrylic or are some wood?

Aaron does make some awesome sounding and looking whistles,I just wished the wait was not as long as it is,but that is a huge indicator of the quality of his product.

That's what I thought he said. But with the wait what it is I may bite and the bullet and get an acrylic till I can get a wood one next year.

Ky, just get one. You wont regret it. And you can pass on the acrylic when you end up getting your wood or keep it for the collection.

I own a wood and acrylic Wingert Whistle and have had the opportunity to run two of his CNC calls. The CNC are spot on.

WHistles are not like echo stuffers. You can't buy a toneboard for a whistle. You have to sand it down for the call it is intended for.

IMO, the generic whistles produce the same basic sounds as the custom whistles. They just don't look as good.

I've made a pile of custom whistles and have a few from other custom call makers including Aaron. No way I'd be caught with a plastic one on my lanyard.

I can guarantee Aaron will not let a whistle cnc or not come out that doesn't sound perfect.

Id say shoot Aaron a email and inquire about a CNC whistle from him.

BTW his wood whistles are top shelf and well worth the wait.

Just go on and do it he is back logged that long for a reason and isn't because he makes a subpar whistle.

Yep. As of a couple days ago when I got on the list, the wait was15 months for a custom piece, a couple weeks for a cnc'd whistle.
