Tell Me About This Old Echo !

Postby Lazy K » Mon Jun 23, 2014 1:07 pm

I had a friend just send me this old Echo. Can anyone tell me anything about it? It's acrylic but doesn't have anything etched in it. Has a box but no model name. Just a sticker around the top of the barrel. It's a single reed. How old do you think it is and what model is it? Does it have collector value or can I not worry about using it?

Definitely has value, how much I'm not sure but likely a decent amount.

The echos with the sticker around the top of the barrel are pretty rare. Wuth the increase value in Echos lately Id say its worth atleast 200$.
No contest ring. No gimmicks. No compromising. It’s just pure, raw, balls-to-the-wall, don’t tell your mother, most powerful, non-nuclear duck calling machine on the planet. This call may not be for everyone. But if you can drive it, Game over......

Beebe stamps that a lot of guys have and sell go around that right? This may be worth more? I really don't know, I've never seen one like this.

Thanks for the input. He did tell me he bought it in the mid 90's and it is the timber version from back when they only made two models. Thing sounds awesome. Kind of bummed I probably shouldn't use it. Not a collector. Might see if I can trade 2 for 1 in classifieds!

A 71 Camaro is a car. Should I drive that everyday?

I used a model 1897 Winchester to hunt ducks until they made it a law that you had to use steel shot. That's when the 16 gauge got retired. That call would look real nice hanging next to my Winchester LadyK.

Well my ethical brother shamed me out of profiting off the gift from a friend so it looks like she is headed back into service!
