IF you were to purchase a cut down call, what kind would you get?

Olt keyhole then find your favorite cutter. Mine are Clent Hughes, Bryce Decker (Black River cut) and Tyler Rogers.

I hunt the Black River area and everybody uses cutdown calls.
Got to try many because all my buddies have four around their necks.
I like the BSOD. Problem is...I didnt ask what cut I was blowing.

Personally my Throwback works better so I quit asking about cut downs.
The olt d2 cutdown I tried sounded almost identical to my Throwbacks to me.
You gotta use em right.

Buy an olt or two and do it yourself. Can't beat using one you modified. If I weren't to use mine, I'd have to go with an old Kirk McCullough olt or a Bryce Decker monster.

Thought the old timers had to ruin a pickle barrel full to learn to get one right.

I have cut three, some a bit better. First one I ever did is my favorite. There's no science to it, just patience.

Could someone possibly give me an overview on how to cut down a call?

Ar is rounded or blunted end. La has a 45ish degree angle at the end of the tone board.
