Today i got to attend a Fred Zink siminar at Bass Pro shops. Let me tell you he knows a lot about goose hunting. He gave a talk about decoy spreads, calling, camo, and scouting. I know with the information he shared i will kill more geese. He knows what he is talking about. So how do you guys set your decopys and how do you call? He said this," If you were a goose feeding in a field, would you call for more geese to come take your food? Or would you give them a warning."

Other, cause it depends on what direction the geese in the distance are heading. If they are coming my way I won't do much until the get within 200 yards or so. If they aren't coming my way, I'll flag 'em.
Fred is the man though

Nothing against Fred, but who was his mentor? Tim Grounds-the grand pappy of the SR calls and modern Honker hunting. Even Tim will tell you-do not overcall geese. Too many guys hear the contest calling and think that is what you are supposed to do in the field
Far from it.
