Hey guys...I have this same rnt call that John Stephens has in this video. The short barrel cocobolo. If you watch the video he does a whiny quack with it. Does anyone know how to do it? If so can I get a couple tips. I've tried to do it but it sounds funny to me.
Actually in that video the cocobola call John is using is a Microhen. That said, a short barrel will whine too.....not quite as easily as the microhen but it's in there. Basically for any whine, you're decreasing the size of your mouth cavity as you're making the note.
Just start to do a normal quack but raise your tongue to the roof of your mouth as you finish it, so the same volume of air is going through a smaller space, which speeds it up and produces the squeal.
Alright. Thanks guys I'll give it a shot. Don't know if it will help finish birds or not but I like the sound. Plus nothing wrong with another truck up my sleeve hunting public ground
Absolutely, you never know when the one your in might break down. Iam not reall good at making that sound mainly cuz I don't practice it much but it is one where I can do it better on certain calls. Calls that advertise having a lot of back pressure usually will make it easier.
I just got the Cajun squeal from Haydels so maybe when I get that call down it will be easier. I definitely don't consider myself a great caller but I'm not horrible either. Just like to learn different things with calling
