Just camoclad my Remingtom SPR453.

Postby ArkArcher » Wed Mar 31, 2010 11:54 am

Well I ordered the camoclad shotgun kit last week and got it in and applied it last night. Let me just say I am VERY pleased with how it turned out!!!!! It is easy to apply, you just have to think a little bit on where your cuts need to go. Just take your time and have fun with it! I decided to go with the Mossy Oak Brush camo for my SPR453.

What do ya think??

if you wanted and had the extra material you can very carefully wrap the vent and use a razor blade and cut out the holes to let it vent thats what I did on the last one I camo cladded.. but looks good. good job

I don't think I have the patience or extra material for that. But I do have enough to do part of the magazine cap. I'll probably do that to help it blend in a little more.

Man you won't regret it! I LOVE mine. I got it last October so it’s been through a duck season and I have hunted it hard and it took everything i gave it and never gave me any problems at all. Very, very happy with it so far!!! And I got mine new for $349 so you can't beat that!!! The camo 453 is around $499 around here so personally I would save the extra $150 for camo and buy the black/blued and then either do like i did with the camoclad or paint it like the "steps to painting a shotgun" tutorial on here. Actually, I think I'm still going to paint mine like that once the warranty is up on it later in the summer.

Just be careful. I nearly ruined a gun with camoclad. It is a cheap fix, but it doesn't hold a candle to a dip from my first hand experience. I've gone from camoclading to just getting them done right the first time.
Just say no to internet scouters.

it looks good but u will do more harm than good.it will get moisture under it and over a period of time rust the hell out of ur gun if its anything like the tape.especially if ya hunt in fowl weather.even if yAA CLEAN IT YA CANT GET THE MOISTURE OUT FROM UNDER IT!its better than the tape though but not near as good as dippin.Bill

Yeah, I had a buddy camo his gun with tape and it rusted to heII. Anyways, good looking camo job, just keep an eye on the rust!
