Anyone ever braided a shotgun sling out of paracord?

Postby bernie » Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:14 pm

I am wanting to make a braided paracord sling for my shotgun, but have no idea how. I have made the more loosely braided ones that can be unbraided easily and used in an emergency, but I would like to make a tighter braided one but have no idea how I would do this. Anyone have any website links that can help?

Search for cobra weave on you tube. Thats how I make my lanyards. It should work for a sling.

My brother-in-law made one for my nephew and it looks pretty cool.

Please post pictures of your progress, Sounds like a great idea and would look nice too. I personally prefer a sling with a neoprene backing that is somewhat sticky so that it stays on my shoulder but I would like to see how your braided sling turns out.

I don't think a person can do that. Might as well buy the new Benelli waterfowl SBE II. It's an awesome deal with the bolt handle and the paracord. Well worth the $2800 price tag. (insert sarcasm anywhere)

I just made a sling last night. Either use the cobra stitch or the double solomon bar. The wife got me about 2,000 ft of paracord for xmas, in different colors. I had to do something with it, after making 4 lanyards for friends.

$80 is way to much for one of those. You can probably make about 20 of them for that price. Im going to make one this week and a strap to attach my shotgun to my kayak. Pm me and I'll try to walk you threw making one.

I made one for my M4 in Iraq back in 06, for comfort find a way to slip some padding over it.

If you make one the length you want and then do the same braid over that back to the beginning, it will be a wider, more comfortable sling and it looks sweet as well.

What about taking some of the padding from an old neoprene waders and using it built in with the sling?
