Can someone with an SX3 please look behind the firing pin assembly at that plunger in the back where the black rod off the firing pin assembly goes and tell me how far out yours sticks? Mine is sticking out a good inch and I cant remember it ever sticking out that far.

Get a pic of your bolt so we can see. I'll look at my X2 when I get home, its the same bolt.

I cant get a picture of it, too bad of an angle for my crappy camera. Its the plunger in the back where that black bar off the firing pin assembly goes in.

That looks correct to my gun, but I am talking about the part that this piece goes into in the back of the chamber there. Its like a little cup on a spring that goes in when the bolt is pulled back then forces the action assembly to close. If you take out your firing pin assembly and look down into the gun you will see it. That black rod fits in it.

That's the recoil spring plunger.

There is no possible way that it's sticking out too far.

For as much advice and expertise you post up you seriously don't know what that is??? Cmon man, like said it's the recoil plunger. Here is a pic of mine for ya.

Pop out the 2 pins that hold the trigger in and remove the trigger assembly. You'll be able to see the plunger, it only takes about 20 seconds to do that. Your gun is just fine.

Thanks. I dont have a darn clue about gun part names other than on my rems. I just know how to take them apart and put them back together.

Your bolt is peening your receiver. It's past time to replace your buffer.
