Ithaca Mag 10

Postby palmer1121 » Sun Dec 09, 2012 5:39 pm

Has anyone fitted a Remington Sp-10 barrel to a Ithaca Mag 10 receiver? I just a good deal in a Ithaca Mag 10 with a 32" full choke barrel, it came with a SP-10 28" barrel threaded for chokes and a full set of Rem Chokes. I have heard that the Sp-10 barrel can be modified for the Ithaca receiver, just looking for some first hand advice.

Why not just sell the SP-10 barrel and have the original barrel threaded for SP-10 choke tubes? That's my eventual plan for my mag-10.
If I ask a question, I don't want your opinion. I want facts.

I have a Mag 10 that came with mobile chokes out of the box. They look like Winchokes with the same lables as the ones pictured.

I had a local gunsmith/machinist/custom rifle builder modify the SP-10 barrel to fit the mag 10 receiver. He did an excellent job and it functions flawlessly. PM me for his info if you need this type of work
