I don't decoy any geese. In Scotland most of the Wildfowling (waterfowling) is coastal hunting with you shooting geese at dawn as they flight off the roost, which are usually tidal mudflats, to feed inland. This usually means the geese are 40 yards plus.
Also in most places you need to drop them dead cause if they plane off the chances of retrieving them are very low due to the terrain and sea.
Thats why I use the 3.5 mags when doing this type of shooting. The other problem over here is the lack of steel cartridges. I am lucky to get any at the local dealer and all he stocks is Winchester Drylocks. No chance of getting a 1.25 oz 3 inch BB cart! I did look at homeloading but getting powders for steel loads is problematic here plus the main carrier TNT has now stopped shipping any of these products so it gets even harder.
So I am stuck with Win Drylocks 3.5 no 1's and I still have the problem with the 2nd cart at random stay in the mag tube just like the original post
