a400 double feed

Postby Boogie1275 » Sun Aug 11, 2013 4:18 am

hey guys, my A400 has a problem. this past duck/goose season, i shot a half a case of shells through it. mostly black cloud 3.5" in #2 shot. it worked great in the beginning of the season, but now i noticed that it keeps double feeding. i have completely torn down the gun and it still does it. and tips or suggestions? or is it time to take it back to the shop? thanks in advance!

Got one that does same thing. Didnt do it last year at all. Someone said it may be weak shell stop spring? Dont know but this is third beretta ive owned that has had cycling problems.

This may be a real issue cause my a400 ran well all last season and now is exhibiting double feed, fte, and slamfiring (deff not safe and burns through shells jn the field). Every shot yesterday failed in some way described above. Just did a thorough breakdown and cleaning and will take her out wednesdsy to try her out. This is NOT what i expect from a $1600 gun. I had to run back to the truck to retrieve the trusty mossberg 835 to finish my day. Oh, ive beem shooting 3.5 drylock #2s. If it doesnt run good wednesday is goin back Beretta.

Took both of mine to gunsmith yesterday, i will let you know what they find out. Had problem with one and used other for backup and it started doing exact same thing. Had to resort to old faithfull Super X3.

Well? Surely it doesn't take a couple of gunsmiths two months to come up with an answer....

Got back from gunsmith he cleaned them and that didnt fix the problem so I had to send to beretta. They said It was a timing issue. Just got back havent got to shoot them yet.

Man I hate to hear this, I just bought one. I think I had a lube issue with mine straight out of the box.
Wonder how many guns have had this problem?
