SX3 safety engaging

Postby talkinfowl » Thu Dec 19, 2013 11:36 pm

My buddy just bought a 3.5" sx3 the other day, and told me that after the first shot every time, the safety engages by itself. When I told him that surely his finger must be hitting the safety somehow in recoil, he insisted that that isn't the problem. That would make more since if he was a lefty shooting a right handed gun, but he's not. Has anybody heard of this happening on this gun or any other? Any help and insight would be appreciated.

Pull the trigger group out and look on the opposite side of the safety , there's a hair-pin clip , make sure it's in the slot !

that would be my guess

I told him he had to be hitting it with his finger but he swears up and down that he's not. We'll take it apart and see

Yeah I just don't know what he's hitting it with. It would make more sense if he was shooting left handed.. Seeing as how his right hand wouldn't even be on that side of the gun to push the safety back on.. Unless he really wraps his finger all the way around the trigger and his finger is hitting it? I have no clue. Thanks for the help though.

Not sure about the SX3, but on the SX2, you can reverse the safety for left handed shooters

I reversed it for him the other day and it fixed the issue. Once he told me he was shooting it lefty I immediately knew what the deal was.

Me too haha son of a gun was grumpy about it too. I guess I would be too if I paid $1100 for a single shot.
