I just got one and i have not shot it yet but it seems like the chamber is too tight the bolt opens and closes just fine with out ammo in it but once you camber a round you have to pound the bolt open or if you open the bolt drop a round in the chamber and leave the bolt open then push the round all the way in the chamber you cant get in back out with out pounding it out with a cleaning rod is this just a baikal thing or is there some thing wrong with it other than being a Remington lol
You might try different brands of ammo - my gun's magazine is a tiny bit "tight" with Winchester and Rio, but Kents slide right in.
If it's not a bad batch of ammo, I would take it back. You should be able to unload it in the field safely and without pounding on it - endangering everyone around you including yourself. Bad barrel.
