Mossburg 835 magazine plug

Just picked up the 12ga, 835 ulti-mag, 3.5 , Without the plug in the magazine, Anyone know if i can buy these, or can i just make one from a dowel, and what length? 2 in the Mag, One in the chamber....Thanks. :help:

You can make a plug from a small diameter dowel rod and will fit down the end of the magazine. I think it is about 6-7 inches in length. The dowel can break over a period of time so check it every year. To be safe, I keep a new pencil in my blind bag just in case it breaks in the field.

YES!, today i cut a 7" dowel and it does allow only 2.. 3.5 rounds into the magazine of the 835 ulti-mag...Thank you for the info.........Very Much Appreciated! GOOD LUCK THIS SEASON!...Mod 12 :thumbsup:

Mod12,

Just some advice. Check with your state DEC on the plug issue. Here in NY you cannot have a plug that comes out. It must be installed so that you have to disassemble the gun to remove it.
