Camo shrink wrap

Postby cjg » Thu Dec 18, 2008 12:08 am

Anyone tried that camo shrink wrap stuff on their guns? Cabelas has it for around $10. Looks like it might work well. I got tired of tape years ago (before you could buy a gun already camo) took my gun apart sandblasted it and painted it.

I tried it last year and it was a pain to get on and could not for the life of me get it smooth. I also found it would shrink up to small, long ways and needed more to be put on. Couldnt get it on at all around the reciever. It never made it out of the house on my gun. I would stay away from it, maybe with more time spent on it would work. It is also not very well sealed so I would worry about water getting in it an rusting the gun real bad.

any thing short of camo dipping or painting will cause a rust nightmare especially cloth tape.

If you can get it on tight and strait it looks good. The BIG trouble with it is it holds the water and dampness in and your gun will rust really bad.

Just put the 10.00 towards a dip job.
