(Un)happy 4th of July

It seems that the sequester is really only affecting those who serve and their families.....

Yeah, a bunch of posts have either had to cut way back on 4th of July festivities, or cancel them altogether...

...but don't worry, we've got plenty of money and guns to give the Syrian rebels.

The Government of course couldn't cut billions in pork being sent to their political contributors in the DOD contractors list. Stick it to the sailor, soldier, and marines who risk it all through their families. All while still spending $400 to buy a $20 hammer.

Surely the president will speak somewhere on the 4th, (perhaps another basketball player somewhere will come out of the closet,. who knows).
Maybe those in uniform surrounding him should break their 5th general order and call it a day.

Misdirected Cynicism...Pure and Simple.

When the budget is tight, do you cut the low visibility items, or the high visibility items?

Pools...Soldiers being screwed...righteous indignation...emergency spending bill...no cost savings OR

Cancel an order for a plane...no indignation...no emergency spending bill...cost savings.

No different than a local city council cutting police forces...(See line about the pools above).

Its about VISIBILITY...nothing more.

When the government is not wasting billions on unecessary things that do nothing for our nation and our people you will be correct. Until then they are sticking it to the service men and women through their families and benefits of using those resources. Like it or not the Government mismanaged our money, and is now failing to fund things that would be easy to finance except for the ridiculous wastes of funds that are still going on.

Lets talk about Dumbama's 100,000,000 vacations for a start.
