Global fooling

Postby ctdeathfrombelow » Sat Jul 27, 2013 10:51 am

Sea ice melting in the "north pole" is a major selling point for those pushing the global warming agenda but the findings are about as solid as an iceberg in July.... Cameras have only recently been placed on the ice to document change. So with with out pictorial evidence prior to these cameras presence for only 20 years or so how can they speculate that ice never melted before in the same volume it does today?
These images have attracted media attention, such as this AtlanticWire post and this Daily Mail story, both of which portray the images as potential signs of an intensifying Arctic meltdown.

But before concluding that Arctic climate change has entered an even more ominous phase, it’s important to examine the context behind these images.

First, the cameras in question, which are attached to instruments that scientists have deposited on the sea ice at the start of each spring since 2002, may have “North Pole” in their name, but they are no longer located at the North Pole. In fact, as this map below shows, they have drifted well south of the North Pole, since they sit atop sea ice floes that move along with ocean currents. Currently, the waterlogged camera is near the prime meridian, at 85 degrees north latitude.

The earth was once a hot molten ball.

That must mean that global warming is a hoax and it can return to being a molten ball and we'll all be okay.
All this for a bowl of borscht.

Do you think it will return to a molten ball? Did Algore tell you that? :lol3:

No, but the hundreds of false predictions made by the hoaxers leads some to think it may be a hoax.

Slow is as committed to the Church of Global Warming and any thing leftwing as any religious person on this planet is to their religion. He does not challenge or question what comes from the church elders - Al Gore and the frauds of East Anglia.

So save your breath. Liberal guilt is the basis of the belief system so humans must be to blame for something. That way he feels okay about driving his Prius filled with lead batteries and turning on the lights in his house that are powered by the local coal powered plant. His Church of Global warming allows his Prius and liberalism to serve as penance for his original sin of being born a human.

My favorite though is the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) whose sole purpose is to find climate change, and people look to them as a source. And guess what, they always find climate change. Just like if you call Roto rooter, you will likely find a clog in your pipes. The hoaxers are good and they know how to fool their tools. :lol3:

Tornadoes in Italy. Imagine that.

First extended drought in the south, now flooding.

BTW: I thought most of the "cameras" were actually satellite images and such with Geo-spatial imaging and positioning. All that stuff.

Could be:

“Uri has a controversial reputation. A lot of people think he is a fraud, a lot of people think he is a trickster and makes things up but at the same time he has a huge following and a history of doing things that nobody can explain,” Jayanti says of his Zelig-like subject.

Wow, that explains everything. You're just a wealth of facts.

Italy juts out into the sea, remember? I've seen cyclones off the Adriatic coast with my own eyes. It seems one made landfall.

North Africa used to be a bread basket. Now there is nothing left but desert. All that changed from the Roman times to before the industrial revolution.

I just find it odd that when I was in high school, ca. 2001, all my teachers were talking about global cooling, and that with in 100 years the majority of the eastern seaboard would see a massive climate shift and would see cold weather akin to Canada all the way to the Carolinas.
We all know how upset children get when their Ice cream melts, maybe liberals are the same way with icebergs.......

The global warming hysteria promoted by people like Al Gore and supported by so many unethical "scientists" are the environmental equivalent of the boy that cried wolf and they are making society the villagers that have come to save the world from the fictional environmental wolf.

We have made so much gains in environmental science, but this latest generation of environmental zealots and charlatans are in the process of totally discrediting the entire profession make society unable to see the real threats from the hoaxes.

The problem is that it is complex and there is real likelihood that a warmer average temperature across the globe would have counter intuitive results.

For example, tornados and hurricanes are not simply linear warmer means more and bigger. If the warmer climate shifts the jet stream, ocean currents, or other patterns, we could see a reduction in these. If there is no shift, yes warmer means more on average.

That's the other problem. On average. As we know the annual variation is huge, and as everybody knows when you roll a few 7's in a row at the craps table, that's going to go on forever.

Neither side at this point is serious at all about seeking the truth. It's just another political football kicked around and the sides are set and nothing will ever change that. Al Gore and all unethical "scientists" and environmental zealots have so corrupted the argument by not doing the only thing scientist should ever do which is to stick to the highest ethical standards which means not making claims that cannot be supported without the highest degree of certainty in a totally open way and allow the highest degree of scrutiny.
A politician thinks of the next election; a statesman of the next generation. A politician looks for the success of his party; a statesman for that of the country. The statesman wished to steer, while the politician was satisfied to drift.
