"Facial Profiling"- too funny!

Postby swampbilly 1980 » Mon Aug 19, 2013 7:14 am

Just days after Oprah revealed how she got the "Pretty Woman" cold-shoulder treatment from a snooty employee at a Swiss boutique, another moneybags star has ended up on the wrong side of a quick-to-judge staffer. During a sit-down this week on "Live With Kelly and Michael," the hirsute men of "Duck Dynasty" discussed the inherent difficulties of looking like camouflage-loving ZZ Top impersonators in New York.

"The first thing that happened to me at the hotel is I got escorted out," Jase Robertson revealed to Michael Strahan and guest host Maria Menounos as the clan promoted the new season of their A&E show. "I think it was a facial profiling deal."

Seems the bearded reality star made the mistake of asking a hotel worker where to find a bathroom, and that staffer figured he was an unsavory element who'd wandered in off the street.

Now what I found interesting was the comments from others-

Couldn't have said it any better-

Wait a minute? Where is all the outrage? Where are all the looters and protesters? If he were black this would be 24 hours of national news and Jesse Jackson for sure would have flown in to, uh, um, "help".

Funny how a when a very rich and important black TV star spoke about a rude and stupid employee, the press considered a it racial and Jase considers it just someone who didn't know any better. Splain that to me.

love how he handled the situation way better than the way Oprah handled hers. He's a classy guy after all....I think he should be called "Pretty Good Man"

Hopefully the NAACP will petition Holder to file an investigation into possible Civil Rights violations...

"If I had a son, he'd look like Jase Robertson..."

:lol3: :lol3:

This is an interesting study of human dynamics. People who have an over inflated view of themselves often get their panties in a wad over the most mundane of situations.

Granted Oprah is recognizable for most in the US, but having run into celebrities in odd locations, I can tell you this, I rarely recognize them until someone points them out, especially the ladies. When you see a female celeb/star on TV or the big screen, they are usually spackled up fairly deeply with make-up. When you see them without the enhancements, sometimes you just cannot believe your eyes. This could have played a role with Oprah not being recognized by someone who could give a rat’s rear end about her show. My wife showed me a picture of Faith Hill sans make-up the other day. I honestly could not tell her who it was.

But the part that bugs me about talk show hosts and actors is their level of self importance is based upon entertaining, not because they cured cancer or invented a time machine.

Jase on the other hand, knows how to poke fun at himself and others. When they walked him out, I am certain he was laughing the entire way and not pulling a Reece Witherspoon- “Do you know who you are dealing with?”

And as for the sales clerk that waited on Oprah, I can assure you she has sold overpriced crap to people of every skin color. Capitalist are funny that way. They just do not care your ethnicity if you have the greenbacks.

The problem lies with those that assume they're entitled. Period.

All I can say on this one is that Jase showed you exactly who you would want to deal with in real life. For anyone who has a question about the boys from Duck Dynasty being the real McCoy. That questions just got answered. Salt of the Earth is exactly what I would call them.

That was a class act on the part of Jase. I am wondering how the employee felt when his management figured it out and had a talk with him or her.

That and I am sure he was smart enough to recognize new material for the show when he saw it.

Certain situations are very revealing of a person's character. We saw two examples recently by two famous people- One laughed it off and one was offended and whipped out a race card.

ONLY white people can be racist, duh.
There are only two types of people in the world, those who love duck hunting and those who never have duck hunted.

Double post Woody.

Is that a baby Chupacabra humping your foot there?

If so cage the little rat and make a million on the new discovery!
