Never mind. I agree with all the liberals now. Your state is full of inbred retards.

Louisiana has a large population of Conservative Democrats.

democrat and republican are political parties, Conservative and Liberal are ideologies. there is such a thing as a liberal republican as well as a conservative democrat.

I understand the difference Swamp...

But you cannot be a conservative and support the modern day democrat party.

I'm not...but there are quite a few in louisiana that do support conservative democrats that run for office here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but its sort of part of their identity of who they are. Generation after generation were Democrat and not those damn carpet bagging Yankees or some such thing. It's not about a philosophy of government, but they are just a Democrat, that is who they are. This seemed to be how it was when I lived in the south.

I come from a different mindset. My mom and dad registered one as a Democrat and one as a Republican, that way they got a vote in each primary. Political party affiliation was not part of personal identity. I first registered as a Democrat myself because I was told that if I wanted to get the government job for which I was applying, I had to register as a Democrat and was given the voter registration right there because I was not registered to vote. No joke. Doesn't everybody apply for a government job at someone's kitchen table? I'm sure that's the norm here in Illinois like it was in where I grew up.
