Hey blackduckdog2

Postby waterfowlman » Tue Nov 05, 2013 9:29 pm

I'm b-a-a-a-ack!
As per our 2012 presidential election wager, I have remained out of the CI forum for one year. A bet is a bet.
I fully intend to wage war on your lying, community organizing, socialist dickhead with a vengence from here on out. Hope you're having a good duck season.

Welcome back, dude. You are a man of your word and I am duly impressed…… The dog gashed a pad pretty bad so duck season really starts for me this Thursday. Wanna weigh in on whether the Civil War was about slavery or not? That's always good for a few migraines :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

As Spinner remarked at the time, are we really sure who the winner of that agreement was? I mean, there's times when a year away from this joint would seem like a vacation. How was it for you?

Hope your dog heals fast. Do you have some good sturdy booties for him?
I'm thinking that Civil war subject has already been kicked around enough.
Let's talk about getting back to a much smaller government as our forefathers had originally intended. :lol3:

On which subject I remain resolute, as ever………I want just as much government as needed to git her done. No more, no less

These things are wicked tough, but the main reason I pulled the trigger on the hefty price is because they don't come off 'til you damned well take them off! I've lost what seems like dozens of dog boots over the years in the muck. In fact, that's how he got cut this time, when the lower version of this boot came off and I didn't notice

I did not know the bet was the reason for your absence. BTW, BDD2 lost the Civil War debate. He just doesn't know it.

You failed to make the logical connection from the religious/philosophical argument to the historical facts. You may have very well been correct about the psychological state of many Americans at the time. You made a compelling argument and presented Father Tom's views well. However, you/Father Tom made a logical jump to "reason for/cause of war" that you could not support with historical facts. There's too much history to support their position and none to support yours. Like I've stated, we would've liked it to be your way but, the facts don't support our desires. I still agree that the South got exactly what it deserved, those slave driving bastards. There's a good program on PBS currently on slaves and blacks in America. It's pretty good.

Mainstream history on a good day has never been particularly adept at addressing such nuances. There's an opening there. I'll check out the PBS offering, but aren't they just a bunch of godless liberals anyhow?

Barry's buddy made the documentary series, you know the liberal that got busted breaking into his own house in MA. You remember him, Henry Gates? He actually makes pretty good documentaries based on sound history with only a little bias thrown in here and there.

I thought that PBS is where 1st and 2nd grade teachers go after they retire. :lol3: It's been a few months since I watched PBS, but manner and tone used by many of the reporters and show hosts reminded me of how a teacher talks to children. It was almost creepy. They have always been a place where you can catch a good documentary though.

So, are you saying you made a promise and kept it? There were not any unstated caveats?

That if BHO won and that if BBD2 liked his CI forum, he could keep it?

There seems to be some strange irony to this situation, but I cannot put my finger on it.

Huh? It was pretty straightforward at the time (the only "caveat" being Spinner's wry observation as to whether a year off from the CI Forum might not be more of a reward than punishment) In any case, the deal between me and WFM was that if Obama won, WFM would self-impose a one year ban. Same would have gone for me. All evey-stevey like
