If abortion is legal in England, then it is the height of hypocrisy.

I don't know if it is the height of hypocrisy, but it does raise the question of whether they could have ordered and abortion instead of a birth if the government agent decided that was in the best interest of this mentally incapacitated woman.

With all of the time between when the government took charge of this woman and when the medical decision was made, there was NO excuse for the government to make that decision. They easily could have found a family member or a friend to act on her behalf while she was mentally incapacitated.

The woman, who says she was kept in the dark about the proceedings, says that after five weeks in the ward she was forcibly sedated.

If this is accurate, this was not 5 minutes, or 5 hours, or even 5 days. This was 5 weeks in the internet age and they could not find a legal guardian other than the government agent to make decisions for this woman nor take care of her child.

All involved are seriously messed up.

I guess Essex didn't think a nanny state was sufficient control. Now they've become a midwife state.

Good thing the Health and Human Services Director was not involved or she would have dispatched one of Tiller the Killer's proteges to take care of things. There is no baby safe from a late term abortion with Kathleen Sebilious at the helm thus why it is part of everyone's affordable care.

And how about the irony of the whole right to privacy, choice, blah, blah, blah. But if Big Gov knows what is best for you or the parasite in your womb, then they get to make all the decisions. Take a look at our future. It is not that far off.

But at least it will be affordable because of Obamacare.

It will be raised in Parliament this week by John Hemming, a Liberal Democrat MP. He chairs the Public Family Law Reform Coordinating Campaign, which wants reform and greater openness in court proceedings involving family matters.

A Liberal MP who wants "greater openness?" The Libs created the problem in the first place along w/ Labour. What's the sudden concern? Reflects rather poorly on NHS, what?

Cheers, lads; coming soon to the US!

It is starting to look like Britain might be better off under Islamic Law. :fingerhead:

More about how screwed up the Europeans are.

Bob Dylan is being asked to apologise for remarks he made in an interview that have ran afoul of French anti-racism laws.

The legendary American singer has been charged with inciting hatred by Paris prosecutors after comments made to Rolling Stone magazine last year sparked a complaint from the Council of Croats in France (CRICCF).

Control-freaks run amok. The shepherd must control the sheeple for their own good and if they step out of the herd, they will sick the sheepdogs on them to scare them back into the herd.

I would tell the French to take their silly Frog behinds to a very tall place and jump without a chute.

He made a comment in an American magazine about Croat's and the French think they have legal standing? I am not sure what is dumber, that somone in France filed against the singer, or that their courts actually even consider this an option. This after their gave him their highest public civilian honor? What a bunch of intellectual midgets.

The french are notorious for frivolous lawsuits against high profile people for political statements.

I would be happy to join them on the tall place and give them an ever so gentle push. We wouldn't want to bruise any frog feelings now would we?
