Actual Water's is a socialist. Close enough though, she still is a danger to US taxpayers.

Here's the deal with US drilling - it won't bring the price of oil/gas down to US consumers. Oil prices haven't been a supply and demand item for a couple of years - they are a commodity valued through manipulation of producers that are in a no lose situation trading futures. I don't think congress needs to nationalize the oil companies, but if they are going to open drilling up congress should cut a deal with the companies that are drilling that benefits US consumers and not just enriches the driller. It is a world oil market and any oil that comes out of ANWAR or off the coast of CA or FL will be valued that way unless US government puts caveats into the drilling contracts.

Until the world's securities exchange regulatory agencies put some safeguards into the commodities markets world-wide, the price of oil will continue to be well beyond traditional supply and demand. That's why the Saudi's denied Bush's request for increased production - they had nobody asking for more oil, they had more supply than demand. In this case under normal market forces prices should fall - they aren't and won't. Interesting side-bar to regulatory action; Dubai's stock exchange started trading Light Crude and North Sea Brent Crude contracts this week. Could it be they see the handwriting on the wall and are starting their own trading facility to escape such regulatory actions.

Drilling everywhere is like sticking gum in a surface crack in the Hoover Dam. It will help/hold for a little while but the logical thing to do would be replace everything that is causing the crack.

It's a temp fix and Americans have to learn this. We NEED alternative energy. Wind, solar, biodiesel, biogas, natural gas, electric, nuclear. Something, anything.
