April 26th, 1992,
There was a riot on the streets,
Tell me where were you?
You were sittin' home watchin' your tv,
While I was paticipatin' in some anarchy.

They are lyrics to a song by a now defuct, but still awesome band named Sublime. The lead singer died from a heroin overdose around 1997 maybe 1998 I can't remember exactly, that was a fuzzy time period for me as well.

Okay, lyrics toa song... but about what? Anything? Or was that about the time of the Rodney King trial verdict and ensuing riots in L.A.?

That was the last year I lived in Southern California and was working for Southern California Edison. We kept employees at their work locations (if they were near the anarchy) so they wouldn't have to try to drive home through the BS in the streets and be at risk.

Luckily for me I was in Ventura and lived in Ojai, so all was peaceful... But I think to a very large degree, the non-conviction of the cops in the King thing is what led to OJ getting off a few years later... Both cases where white justice and black justice where equally dysfunctional.
What's so funny 'bout peace love and understanding?
