You think the patriot act was bad? Look at this...

I fully expect to hear all the folks that were pizzed about SWIFT and the surveillance program be really up in arms about this:

NOT!!!

Washington, DC - Hidden deep in Senator Christopher Dodd's 630-page Senate housing legislation is a sweeping provision that affects the privacy and operation of nearly all of America’s small businesses. The provision, which was added by the bill's managers without debate this week, would require the nation's payment systems to track, aggregate, and report information on nearly every electronic transaction to the federal government.

http://www.freedomworks.org/newsroom/press_template.php?press_id=2571

Now imagine if there was an "R" behind Chris Dodd's name instead of a "D". The left would go nuts and it would be the top story on every major news outlet. I wonder which one of the resident libs on this site will defend this first?

You never heard anything bad about the "Echelon program" under the Clintons either. From what I've heard that was worse than the Patriot Act.

On a small side note,

Indians (dot's you call them) HATE camel jockeys. They try and snipe rags off their heads in Kashmir. I know 2 dudes who were in the Indian army. Pretty hardcore BAMF's. They are on our side of this.

Don is definitely on the mark on this one. I worked with an Indian immigrant. Smart guy, he was and engineer and his wife was a doctor. Vegetarian because it's "non-violent." He was soft spoken, etc. Somehow the topic of muslims came up. :gatgun: Clearly, muslims are lower than a chicken, because he was definetly not 100% non-violent. The muslims and the hindus definitely hate each other. They have fought a lot of wars and now both sides are sitting on nukes

seastreet, Didn't you know that the progressive view of privacy only applies to the right to produce and distribute porn? Businesses have no rights at all because they are just greedy bastards trying to make profit by stealing hard working welfare recipients money. They are lower than terrorist because they probably cheat on their taxes. There is nothing lower than a Republican cheating on his taxes and if they take the risk of starting a business, they are probably a Republican and definitely too independent to be trusted. Progressive leaders are entitled to say or do anything they want. The ends always justify the means. Everything their enemies (especially Conservatives) do is criminal.

I am certainly against this, just as I am against certain provisions in the Patriot Act that were in direct contradiction to the constitution. I am just disturbed that the mainscream media has not picked up on this. Obviously, when a Democrat makes such a dangerous proposal, it doesn't get nearly as much attention as when a Republican does it.

I didn't know the middle east included India. You might want to practice some google-fu and learn who wants to blow up your nearest airport and who wants to work at it.

I for one and all for the pariot act. I don't give a s*** if it offends people, as long as it gets the job done. It's ironic that monitoring the perfect suspects for terrorism is considered profiling and racism.

Yet you whine about the constitution being trampled with twists in the FISA laws, all while your messiah voted with Bush in granting immunity to telecos who spy on American citizens.

And then you accuse anyone who is rich of being crooked and getting that wealth dishonestly. I've seen some real idiots in my time, but you take the cake (no pun intended).

Your hypocrisy is astounding. Must be your lack of intelligence.

I am not a terrorist. I hate terrorists. I am not an America hater. I love America. I don't like seeing 3,000 of my fellow Americans die in one sunny morning because of terrorists so therefore I think I love the Patriot Act.

Really dude....what are you afraid of?
