New Spending Bill

Postby GroundSwatter » Wed Mar 11, 2009 8:02 am

I'm surprised nobody has picked up on this one yet. This $410 billion dollar bill just passed the senate yesterday. I got the links from CNN just for you dude.

The omnibus spending bill includes more than 8,000 congressional "earmarks," which total almost $8 billion. The earmarks have caused critics to question President Obama's pledge to end wasteful spending, but Obama administration officials said the bill is a holdover from the previous Congress.

I can partially understand needing to pass budgets for departments that have been underfunded, but I still don't understand how Obama can speak out against earmarks, and then keep signing off on bills that are laden with earmarks.

He argued that the White House had little choice but to support the omnibus spending bill, which it inherited from the previous administration.

So i guess he not only blames the previous administration for the deficit, but also for the lack thereof????

Honestly, I am just worn out on all the hypocrisy. The fall pork bill was one big earmark. The spring porkulus bill was one big earmark. Now the omnibus bill has 8000 – 9000 earmarks. What the heck can anyone do except wait for the next election cycle?

I will continue to hound my representative and senators, but it won’t do any good. My senators are Republicans and have voted no on all the pork bills, but not much good that has done. And my representative is a Pelosi toady and will do whatever he is told to do.

People wanted change and change is what they are getting. Even the self appointed big brains like David Broder, who at the time proudly voted for Obama, are acting shocked that Obama and the Dems are doing this stuff.

Mr. Broder, you may have attended Harvard or Yale, but you were duped just like the other brain dead Obamaites.

RC, I'm with you - I'm mad as he11 and how long must I put up with it. . . There's no way in heck these folks read this thing and the biggest socialist besides Obama is writing these things. Pelosi stated that she would have no ammendments to this bill - Obama has no balls and therefore will sign whatever she pumps/pimps out. One of my main concerns here is the "entitlement" crowd will vote for the "O" man regardless - if these folks pass an immigration zoom for all the illegals - there's more voter base. We conservatives are going to be the minority. Maybe we can get stimulus money . . .

Last November, the American people, as I am keenly aware, voted for change,” Mr. McCain declared on the Senate floor. “Somehow we’re saying this is last year’s business; only this is funding this year’s operations. So we’ll vote to pass this, and the message is, my friends and colleagues, that it’s business as usual here in Washington.”

Mr. McCain added: “If the president were serious about his pledge for change, he would veto this bill. He won’t.”

Obama ,you should just shut your face ,the more you try to explain your reasons for your actions the dumber you look and sound!

Please stay away from the Communist News Network ! [ CNN } In my opion they can go down the toilet like NYT is headed .If you watched any of the debates between Biden -Palin , or McCain-Obama you would know they are a bunch of Liberals with an agenda .They posted more negative stories about Palin than Obama and Biden combined .Go ahead and bash her if you want , but she wasn't the one running for President .Look at all the crooks ,white haters , anti-Americans he wallowed with .Good Grief !

If I post something from Fox News dude won't read it. I think Obama must be screwing up pretty bad for CNN to print negative press about him as they have been very taken with him up until this point. If MSNBC starts posting negative things about Obama I might have to look outside and see if the sky if falling.

Dude, I don't think you have to wish that more presidents were like Obama anymore. I think he's just as big, if not a bigger liar, than the rest of them.

I am just sickend in what a month more or less the obama regime has approved the creation of over 1 trillion dollars??? has dollar worth and inflation even occured to these ass clowns? I think the regime wants the country to tank, then the own us. hell, they pretty much own us now. the omnibus bill just passed is only to keep the gov operating from yesterday through sept, from what I am hearing about it. My God is that true then what? Oh, and by the way, the dems and such are now saying were going to need a second stimulus package, however technically if you count bush's it'll be the third. How much more are the American people going to stand for? It shames me to think what the great founders and forefathers of our once great nation would think and say about us in the state of affairs we as a nation are in.
I'm the best there is at what I do...just ain't figured out what that is yet!
