Sorry to hear your dog is sick. Did it eat anything bad? socks, undies, cotton??? No blood right??

My dog was throwing up green stuff one day and it turns out it ate a bunch of cotton. We gave him some keopectate (sp?) and it helped a lot.

Best of luck, hope the pup gets better.

no no blood, i have to get after him over nibbling on goose crap :umm: but thats about it .........he doesnt get table scraps. he may get yelled at but not beaten. he gets ice cubes in his water and a fluffy pillow to sleep on. alright he is more spoiled than the kids.
he drinks the pond water sometimes , think that may be the prob.
anyway...........let ya know tommorow

Your dog sounds just like mine and probably many others on here. I doubt the pond water is the problem, unless it is really nasty water. Most dogs will drink from the water when you are hunting, never heard of it being a problem. Let us know what was the problem.....

ok, well we went to the doctor.
he said that he has what is called kennel cough................
i asked how does a dog get that, i was told from other dogs.
problem. my rottie is the only one he is around and i know he doesnt have it.
i asked , "could he have contracted it from the training area?" but he had no idea.
:pissed: he was getting on my nervs.
any way, apparently its no serious item just anoying (that is an understatement..... )
cost me 125 for him to tell me it was a cough and it would go away on its own. but its better to be safe than sorry.

 so does anyone know how a dog contracts it with out being near other dogs.?

I am no vet, but these sites may help.

http://www.cah.com/library/kennekcough.html

http://www.vetinfo.com/dencyclopedia/dekcough.html

http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_kennel_cough.html

http://www.auntjeni.com/kennel.htm

http://www.malteseonly.com/cough.html

It is very common, don't be worried. Just make sure your pup has lots of rest, and lots of water. They have a bordatella booster shot, but I don't think it is very helpful in preventing kennel caugh. Make sure you pup is up to date on all his vacinations and just give it rest and lots of water, he will be just fine....
