Young Dog turning gray

Postby tmclaimerFL » Wed Aug 21, 2013 11:15 am

Anybody else's labs or whatever breed get gray faces at a young age? My female is not even three yet and is already looking like she is 6-7 years old. Just curious if this is a normal thing in all dog. Image

Glad I'm not the only one. She will be three in another month or so. Just thought it was kind of strange.

'Bout TIME a male has put some grey on the female instead of the female puttin' it on the male!
See what you've done- you're worrying her to death

Just messin-
As mentioned, it's a normal thing.
(So you can't take any credit for it  )

She wears herself out by herself. She must be stressed for not playing enough fetch with me I suppose.

Grey beared lab, by the time he's 5 his whole chin will be grey. Ironic to because he lives the easy life, no worrys in life at all

My Boykin, Reese had grey on his chin at 2. He's 5 now, & has a lot of grey. Funny thing is that he has two full blooded brothers that have no grey at all, & I'd say that Reese is the least stressed of all of them.

I just noticed my lab had gray about a month ago and he is four. I thought that was very early.

Do you have a plastic or stainless water bowl? A friend of mine said that dogs that are watered out of a plastic bowl grey younger that dogs watered out of a stainless bowl. I don't buy into it but a lot of dogs i know that grey early have a plastic water bowl.

My buddies dog is 4 and is gray faced and his underside has turned completely gray. Looks like he is 8 or 10. My female is 14 months and has already started to get grey on her ears and under her back legs. Seems to happen most with the black labs (both mine and my buddies are both black)
