Training a clone of a dog...

Postby Indaswamp » Thu Aug 22, 2013 12:30 am

interesting topic...
Before to long, I'm sure we will witness Field Trial champions being cloned and trained. Would be interesting to see whether it was the trainer or the dog that produced the results. Take 10 clones of the exact same dog and give them to the top trainers.....let 'em go at it...
See which one really is "top dog" trainer with the exact same genes to work with....

I agree that it won't be that long until you can clone your championship dog. I think that it will be so prohibitively expensive that most folks won't be able to afford it for a long time.

I know at least 2 that would drop the coin to do it...

Agreed. I think you'd get different results even if they were all at the same kennel, same time, same trainer. Take identical twins for example. I know two brothers who were raised in the same household, both played the same sports and hung out with the same people. They turned out completely different, both physically and socially. I can only imagine the same would happen with animals.
