Sarge's first pheasant

Postby Rutin » Fri Nov 22, 2013 10:42 am

We have a lot of wild birds where I live but not a lot in the actual state. We were having some issues the other day with FF and spent about 30-40 mins correcting them in the yard, when two roosters decided their fate by walking in from the corn field and into my big CRP field. So I got Sarge, my gun, and a couple shells, put him on the scent trail and let the dog work. End result was one rooster close enough to shoot and are training lesson ending in a real life situation.

Trust me. 8 hours in a pond with leaky waders, to not fire a single shot... Is still better than work.
