Who's Hunting Tomorrow?

Postby copterdoc » Wed Nov 27, 2013 8:30 pm

It's gonna be cold, and I'm gonna be by myself. But, I have a feeling it's gonna be a bloodbath.

The marshes are locked up with 3" of ice. And I'm set up on open water, where a creek discharges over an ankle deep flat, into the river.

I can't recall this ever happening before Dec. The birds haven't even arrived in force yet.

And they have no place to go when they get here. Except, to me.

I will be out in the morning. Had my plans all made where I saw tons of mallards coming into feed.
This week the nights have froze up all the shallow water, I'm sure the ducks left to.
So it may be just a scouting mission but should find a few around.
Either way being out in the marsh with the dog. Doesn't get any better for me.
Good Luck Doc.

Season doesn't reopen till Sat. Gonna take the Wire Hair and see if I can collect a pheasant or two. Or a bunny for that matter. The ducks are down though.
Life is to short to hunt with a ugly gun.

T-day is just another day at the office/marsh for the coyote and I. Y'all have fun.
If you think I'm wrong, you might be right.

Good luck. Heading out with my dad, bro, and bil for our annual turkey day hunt. Somehow my bil has found open water.
