When I told the breeder that I was intending on neutering Ranger in the future she suggested that I didn't and with his bloodlines I could stud him out. Now I'm not looking to turn this dog into a stud machine and try to make money. The big question is will neutering make him less driven as a hunter? Thank you

I'm sure opinions vary on this and I've only had females so I'm not much of an expert. But I have heard experts say that females have great drive with never having had testicles so why wouldn't a fixed male? My uninformed opinion is that once he is mature it would be OK. I spayed both of my female Labs and it had zero affect on their drive. I think a hunting dogs motivation to hunt comes something other than their reproductive organs.
