That wood is rotten. That's the only way a pup that small could have knocked big chunks out like that. The other door is cracking and showing signs of rot as well.

That looks like something my 7 month old chocolate would do. He is fine as long as we are around but if he gets left alone and gets bored look out. My wife forgot to put him up a couple of weeks ago and came home to find a $300 Harmony remote control destroyed along with 4 rolls of toilet paper.

That is pretty funny. Dogs are gonna be dogs.

The pup was just trying to help out by showing you structural issues in the house.
