The New Pup

Postby BlkonBlkRS3 » Mon Jul 14, 2014 8:07 am

Well last week our female lab Sadie became very ill, she had a blockage that could not be explained with x-ray and Barium. She was also experiencing very low red blood cell counts indicating another underlying issue. After tons of tests and multiple x-rays, we opted out of exploratory surgery and let our 10 month old pup go. She was our daughters favorite, explaining to a 3 year old what has happened to her dog is the worst. She asks me later that night if we can get a "New Baby Sadie". So of course I did what any Father would do, I started calling around. This weekend we decided on a black female out of a very solid pedigree. Her name is Sadie II.

Very sorry to hear about Sadie I, very tough.

Glad to hear about Sadie II. Think Sadie II will heal much!

Thanks HNTFSH, bringing a new puppy home always helps. We were fortunate to get this little girl out of one of Randal's litters that just happened to be ready this weekend. This pup is healthy as an ox and already picking up pigeons like a champ. The bonus was that while we were there to look at the pup we got to visit our male that is at the Academy training. Sad to lose one but it turned out to be a good Daddy/Daughter weekend with the dogs.

Amen and understood. Fortunately the young uns are resilient and family time, new pups and exciting adventures are a good cure to sadness. Probably a visit to Academy was a good thing too, baby girl seeing some things in fact don't change.

That's tough, glad you get another pup. Puppy breath is the best medicine.

With a pedigree like that, it won't hunt... Hahaha. That dog will be a great addition. Glad it's workin out.
