I run AKC tests, I would also run UKC but there are not any clubs close enough.

We run AKC also.

Haven't looked into UKC, but suspect that I'll have the same issues as JJ.

The AKC tests in our area are often challenging, always a lot of fun, and always involve great people who care about dogs and our hunting heritage.
Are those ducks?
Where?
Straight out...twelve o'clock.
The ones that just landed in that tree?
Yea...
No.

Hey guys I had a question about test v. trials in the retrieving world. I was watching WRC over the weekend and they kept mentioning the trial dogs v. the test dogs. What is the difference in the two disciplines. I know the differences in the pointing dog end of things, but was curious as to the differences in retrievers.

Any of you guys that run in tests or trials ever see any shorthairs or wirehairs running?

You may want to start HERE , AKC's "Clubs" information and search page.

Good luck!

I reg. with both for whatever trial comes up I wish to go to. You can go to the UKC message boards they are really helpful in all information. http://www.ukcdogs.com/forums/
