Training/breeding

Postby hoodedm_89 » Tue Jul 06, 2004 11:04 am

I have a female lab that I am trying to finish training. I have gotten threw all the basics and was down to shooting and having her retrieve. She was doing well when I saw that she was preganent. I continued to train for a while but stopped. She had this liter at the age of 13 months. A bit to young but she is ok and the three puts are alright.

My wife had put my two yellow labs in the same pen not realizing that she was in heat, while I was away at a meeting for several days. To make this long story end, here is my question. Should I wait until the pups stop nursing before I resume training or should I continue to train even as they suck?

STOP!!!

Your dog is going through a very difficult time. Wait untill the pups are done nursing and then gradually get back into it.
