A great Champion has passed away

Postby Elmer Fudd » Sun Jun 26, 2005 7:20 am

I just found out today on ESPN Mack's Super Retriever Series that Jerry Day's Yellow Lab Nike had to be put down due to a cancerous tumor just like the tumor my last lab Jake had..
here is a link to the ESPN tribute.

ya it was a terrible day when this little pup died. I watched her run on TV during the WRC back in March and she had more style and passion than any dog out there. I really wanted to get a pup out of her down the road, it would have been a great dog. I am sure that Jerry will have another dog here that is just as good in a year or two.

That's amazing to think that a dog can take a downward turn so fast. I also watched the WRC this spring and she was running and retrieving great. Truly amazing.
