DIY Decoy rig?

Postby Boykinboy » Wed Sep 18, 2013 8:52 pm

Is it worth it to go through the trouble of materials and labor? or am I better off just sucking it up and spending the money for a decoy rig? how would i even go about making my own? ID have 3 differnt rigs, all with about a dozen or so decoys on them, give or take a few here and there.
Materials list? How lond does each one need to be from keel to weight? how do i attach the weight to look natural? i hope this is in the the correct forum

take a look at the Duck decoy forum and check the stickies for Foamers 101, and 102. You'll get some ideas of what others have done in the past.

all that time in the summer wasted you can have 12 or 15 made flocked or mastic coated and painted in a week ,something neat about hunting over your own decoys you made.

no clue what the guy above your post is relating to..?

a jerk rig is EASY! you can use a bungee, a brick with a hole in it, and some paracord or trotline, line for the main line then attach a few large clip swivels to it. main line attaches to the bungee, then bungee to the brick (I'd tie it with other string to brick)

I have some extra bungee line that would be great for a jerk-rig, its 3/15ths bungee cord that can be had for .49c a foot.
