Spring/summer project (sneak boat)

Postby COOTKILLER1313 » Sun Feb 02, 2014 1:00 pm

I know there has been some post on here with DIY sneak boats before but nothing I saw very detailed into building one . I have looked around the web for free building plans to build your own but no luck unless I pay $50 bucks for a book of 200 boat plans  ! Do any of u guys have any advice or diagrams to help me out ? It would be greatly appreciated if u did . thanks in advance.

The boat forum here would be a good place to start, do a search, I know this topic comes up frequently there.

What size boat do you want? A few options:

a.) Hybrid boats: many full builds on these in the boat forum. The plans sound very detailed and helpful for 30 bucks I believe. The biggest the plans call for is a 10 footer but very easy to modify. Very low draft (4 inches)

b.) Devlin boat plans: a bluebill or broadbill (can't remember exactly) around 12' and is a planing hull so might motor around easier.

Keep us posted with what you want to do. And you can always make a low profile blind on a jon boat

Looking to build a 10ft hybrid . Like u said they seem pretty easy to make but I guess I missed the post on the boat forum on instructions and materials. As far as Jon boat I would rather build a boat that would used in my family for generations to come . :grooving:
