Duck flags

Postby Clayton Dave » Wed Dec 07, 2005 5:48 pm

I hunt over a large body of water in Northern California called the Delta. I am thinking of buying a mallard flag to fly when the birds are high...what's your experience with a duck flag?

Hmmmm. I think you better give us a better description of what duck flag you are talking about.

"Flagging" is basically used to get their attention, as it mimicks landing birds or birds stretching their wings. Basically traditional (T flag) flagging started in MD for CA goose hunting in the fields. But, I consider the spinners a type of flagging being it is an attention getter. Whether the spinner is wind or battery powered, it does the same basic thing, it mimicks birds' wings.
