Thinking about making a blind my idea is to use a pop up shade tent style canopy for the frame beacuse you can raise or lower the height of it cover the backa hald of top where u sit under with camo netting then wrap the front back an sides of it leaving the thefront half top of the canopy open u could step forward an shoot anyone tried this

I've never heard of anyone trying it. My only concern would be it looking un-natural. May be hard to camo the entire canopy out, but I suppose it's possible.

I think it would work, but would it be worth the trouble?

...especially when the wind starts blowing at 25mph?

There are a few reasons that would prevent me from using a pop up as part of a blind. First, as mudpack mentioned they suck in any kind of wind. Granted you could use some tiedown lines but that is a totap PITA...owning several of these for parties and tailgating I can attest to how bad they are in any kind of wind. Secondly the square or boxy look is very unnatural and would probably flare more birds than it would hide you from. Finally most blinds are designed to provide frontal cover as well as something overhead and using a pop up would leave the front totally open.
