Gear for Hunting outside of the blind

Postby cnolan5 » Sun Dec 30, 2012 1:23 pm

I recently started hunting with friends in a slough surrounded by flooded timber. We hunt the edge of the tree line and I am left with nowhere to put my gear. Does anyone have a recommendation for where to put my battery for the mallard machine and my blind bag? Does anyone make a basket or shelf that sticks into the mud? Thanks.

Hammer, nail, and a tree...that's what you need for your bag. Get a bottom-half of a climbing tree stand. Then you can sit on it, put your battery and bag on it as well. Or use it for a dog stand. Handy thing to have on a timber-hunt.

You could use a dog stand or holders that screw into the tree.
