I have heard alot good and bad things about all waterfowl jackets. I am interested in what others have to say about these 2 also... Sitka might be the way to go dealing with the price, sooo expensive!
I'm probably gonna go with either the dirty bird or the lst drake
you can find the dirty bird parkas online for pretty cheap in MODB. i'd consider getting one if i could check one out somewhere, but i've got two from cabelas that have held up fine so i don't really need one that badly.
I don't have any experience with Drake gear but can say Dirty Bird is damn good. On a late season hunt in a torrential downpour for 5+ hours I got soaked to the bone in a Columbia Quad Parka and my brother in his Dirty Bird insulated wader jacket was dry as a bone. So I sold it on Craigslislist and bought a Dirty Bird for cheap on an after season sale.
The radial arm construction makes for comfortable gun mounting without the jacket raising up into your face and the other features like the magnetic pocket snaps and neoprene cuffs to keep water out are very nice as well. I wish they were available in a darker color camo for flooded timber hunting but overall the Dirty Bird brand is very good.
I love my drake 4 in 1, I have had it for probably 5 seasons and it has held up great, I have the drake boaters pants, waist high wader pants, and the lst waders, drake gear is good stuff and really fits the needs as far as pockets and versatility, I have only heard good about the dirty bird stuff as well, go try them on and you'll know for sure
I just bought the Dirty Bird 4 in 1 parka and insulated bibs. The stuff looks to be well made, looking forward to seeing how it works in bad weather. One thing I found is that In Browning's Hydro Fleece line I wear XL...in the Dirty Bird line a XXL.
