Cabela's vs. Mackspw Waders?

Postby huntswithmutts » Wed Jul 17, 2013 7:59 pm

Which one is better?

I have bought lots of Cabela's gear over the years and it had been great, but curious about Mackspw stuff.

I've had similar results with my Cabela's gear. You know what they say... If it isn't broken, don't fix it!

I've had my cabelas ultimate hunting wader for 10 years and still no leaks. When they wear out ill replace them with the same.

+1

find em on sale and they are generally cheaper than macks. return policy and customer service is top notch at cabelas. i hunted the light mag for 3 years before ripping them on a trailer. took em to cabelas, got another pair free.

Cabelas waders have been great for me. One of my duck hunting buddies uses Cabelas as well and they've been great for him as well. As far as which one is best, I can't say as I've never owned a pair of Mack's.
Last night, I dreamed that I killed all the saggers, all the swaggers, and all of their duckface girlfriends...

Cabela's for waders. My father still is using waders from 25 years ago. I used other brands and have went through 2 pairs of waders in 15 years.

I have the Mack's PW waders; they have worked pretty well so far, but I'm rough on them. I wish a company like Simms would make camo waders for duck hunting :(

I have never had a pair of waders make it through one year of hunting.. :( sadly. hunt around 80 days a year and was looking to buy a pair of cabelas. tried la crosse Hodgman Columbia winchester.. list continues.

We use the Cabela's standard neoprene waders in all brown or camo, whichever is on sale. Keep them going with Aquaseal for several years. One reason is because they make waders in stout (dad) and tall (me). Not sure if Mack's offers those sizes?

Hunting 80 days a year is a lot. I wish I could do that. I only make it out twenty to twenty-five times a year. I expect waders to last at least 5 years.

I have been wearing my MPW Grand Prairie's for about 3 season's now. Best pair I have had so far. But I buy them locally at the store, where cost is lower than mail order.

Never had any from Macks, but I had a pair of cabelas for 3 years, tore a hole in the boot, called them and sent them back, they sent me a brand new pair. Customer service is excellent! I would def go with cabelas for that purpose alone.

I have went through 4 pair of cabela waders since 1997. One pair of canvas and three neoprene. One pair got an early retirement due to trapping but none of them have owed me a thing when they have given up AND not a single failure that wasn't caused by me! I absolutely recommend them.

HOW?!?! how do eat waders up so fast??

I had 2 seasons on my Red head 3.5mm classic II's that I first started hunting with before I passed them to my little brother and he's still using them and I'm going on my 3rd season with my Cabela's 5mm neo-strech's. I gave him those when I got my Cabela's waders. we even use our for occasional trout fishing trip, no leaks or anything.

X2. This will be the 4th year on my MPWs. I plan on getting another pair this year, but only if they spring a leak. The boots are starting to show where, but they are still dry.

For cold-weather hunters, Cabela's has their "Ultimate" 5mm neoprene chest waders on sale. The REG SIZE (only) is $100 off retail right now. This is a great deal on a great pair of waders. (I placed my order last Thursday.)
MPW can't touch this!

Be sure and consider the return policy and customer service each offers. Cabelas will make it right and you can return items for 90 days....sometimes even longer. Macks is 30 days, period. No making it right, just 30 days sorry. I have a wind blocker and 2 bags of camo material still new in the package from Macks. No service from them at all. Something to consider!

Cabelas customer service is unparalleled!! I have had several pairs of their waders and several pairs of Mackspw over the years.

Both make great products but as a few have mentioned before me...the customer service at cabelas gets my business over Mackspw. I have a pair of the Grand Prairies going on the 4-5 season now that I use in the woods. I have a pair of cabelas breathables that I use at the club that are 2-3 seasons old...
