Anyone ever use a solar panel to power a 1hp ice eater?
If so, what type, size, make, model, etc.?

1 hp = 746 watts. You'd need 800 watts minimum from quality efficient solar panels to run it, plus a power inverter to change the dc voltage on the panel to ac voltage to run the motor. You're probably looking at $2,500 in panels, batteries, and inverter to run that pump.

Yeah it'd take a big solar panel to run one..
