Teen waders? (Christmas)

Postby landon__odell23 » Tue Nov 26, 2013 4:21 pm

Looking for some good waders for my 13 (14 at end of December)yr old. Wanting some fairly inexpensive ones but still good ones that are warm and don't leak! Thanks

I have the Columbia gadwall waders. It's been three years and no leaks. I wear a size 9 shoe and they are fine.

what brand shoes.

I wear 10.5 in Nikes, 8.5 in double HH square toe boots and 9 in Ariat round toe boots. I wear a 9 in Cabela's waders and they have just a little wiggle room with a thick sock. how tall is he? might want to compare him to a size chart for the waders.

Looks good, let us know if you get them, and how they workout.

Also, I would look at waterfowl sweaters to go with the new waders. I find that with a heavy coat, I am too warm. I just carry the sweater with me and put it on after I'm ready to sit still and wait.

Check eBay. I got a new set of 5mm Hodgeman Durastretch waders for my daughter for Christmas yesterday. $71. They should be here early next week.

My son is the same height and wears size 7 - 7.5 sneakers. If you go with a standard wader you'll find it way to tall. So, we went with a woman's wader with a size 9 boot from Gander Mountain for about $140. Have not had them long enough to report on quality but they seem well made and are roomy and comfortable.

I have these also and they are great. I wear a size 10 in normal shoes but wear size 8 in the neo stretch waders. so you'll probably want to get him a size or two smaller as the wader boots tend to run big.
