I have a safe that I store my guns and other valuables in. It's not fire-proof, but it would take them quite awhile to get into and it would take 2 guys a lot of time to get it out of the house.

I use a gun safe mounted to the wall studs and floor in the closet.. I have kids and they have friends.. 10 yrs ago a huntin buddy was away for the weekend and his step son and friends was hangin out and one of the stepson's friend grabbed his 1100 off the gun rack(gun was unloaded but had a shell holder on the stock with 5 shells)When the stepson walked out of the room one of the guest kids loaded a round and blew the face off of one of the other kid.... To this day I Will tell anyone that has guns..keep them locked up... besides in the state of Indiana its a law that if a kid gets ahold of your gun and causes death or injury you as the gun owner better had it locked(cable/trigger lock/ or safe) or you are liable..
and by the way..the kid died....and my huntin buddy..never hunted or owned a gun ever again.....
