Quiver magnets

Postby joetc » Wed Sep 21, 2005 7:55 am

How many hours will a quiver magnet run before running out of batteries. I just bought one and I want to know how many extra betteries I'll have to bring.

Thanks,
Joe

Seems like mine usually run out in about 4-6 hours. The battery isn't completely dead, but dead enough that the motion is insignificant. So depending on how long you hunt, you may need them for each hunt.

We usually get a couple mornings out of ours. I try to keep enough batteries on hand to replace all the ones we've got. I've got the h2o's, but I think I'll be putting them inside decoys this year.

They make a good little ripple, but not enough for a lot of decoys. We normally use 3 with about 2 dozen decoys

They don't do much. The only place I would use the two I have is if I was setting up in a tiny honey hole. They hardly do anything.

I heard others say they have placed them inside of a decoy and that it worked better. Maybe I should try that.

Boys i'm gonna tell you Defenitly put the magnets in a decoy i tried that just placeing them out there with a weight on it Ya right that was a joke they dont make much movement in a spread of 2-3 dozen and they get in the way. Ya i wont use them this year unless the wind decides not to blow any.

I'm putting mine in decoys this year. Last year I didn't think that they did that much, but when i went across the way in a canoe and I climbed up a bank for the heck of it, I realized they were doing alot more than they look like up close. If you put them in decoys and they run out of juice you can just leave them, if they run real low sitting in the water they start rocking and spinning and I'm pretty sure the ducks would notice.

If they aint makin much movement, you got the wrong ones. The people that make featherlite decoys make some and they will literally make a small fountaing the move so much. they just use a little more juice.
