I just recently bought one and I love it so far. Shoots great and I haven't had any problems with it ejecting shells. But i have only had it a few weeks now. I bought the slug gun for deer hunting. So far so good. I have heard a lot of great things about the gun and was not hestitant at all in buying it.

Its a fine shotgun but it is a gas auto learn how to clean it correctly and it will last you many years. I have 3 11-87's (I bought the last one a premier cause I couldn't pass up on the 400 dollar askin price)

I have a few 11-87's as well, and they have never failed me. Like Citori, the last one I got was a Premier (20ga) that was ofered NIB for cheap.

ive owned an 11-87 for almost 20 years, the only problems that ive had were the "O" rings breaking every now and then. Still is the best gun ive owned ever.

Im not sure if there is any real difference on the sportsman or not. Its probably just some small cosmetic stuff. But i have good luck with my 11-87. Shot the hell out of it for 15 seasons and finally had to have a reapair done on it. I bought another one and am happy with both. As they say, you can never have too many guns!.

I have an 11-87 and it is the only gun I will hunt with. I love the thing. It will run shells without the O-ring, no problem. After the 870 wingmaster it is the best gun for the money in my opinion, and it is American Made!!

The sportsman is just as reliable as the 11-87 premier grade. it just lacks the engraving and the fancy wood and blueing. Just like the 870 express and the 870 wingmaster i know people with both and there expresses work just as well as there wingmasters. The sportsman is the express form of the 11-87. It will give u as many years of hunting as the more expensive models without the hit to ur pocket book. Just keep the thing clean like all autos.
